Character Relations

INGO
"Remember that our separation is ultimately temporary."
Ingo is Emmet's twin brother, and the person he's lived with his whole life. Ingo is a fussy and serious person, a stark contrast to his own high-energy behavior. Emmet is extremely attached to Ingo, likely more than vice versa, and enjoys doing most everything with his brother. And, of course, is the one thing that Emmet loves more than trains. When Ingo departed Luceti, Emmet was torn apart. Even though he knew he had to stay strong, for Silver especially, it broke his heart to have his brother leave. Even if it's only fair that Emmet did his time without brotherly support...
HILDA
"You're supposed to battle the passengers, not make them run away!"
Miss Hilda! She is one of the most skilled challengers of the Battle Subway back home, and she is always a delight to have. Though they haven't had much of a chance to get to know one another outside of work, Emmet's certainly got nothing else to do in Luceti. So why not spend the time getting to know someone he already admired?
AANG
"That's amazing! I'm smiling just thinking about it!"
An interesting young man, who knows Ingo at least somewhat well. They had a brief discussion about the role a trainer plays for their Pokémon, as well as the work the trainer puts in. Luckily, Emmet was rather good at explaining things in a way that brought understanding to Aang. As they've spent more time around each other, Emmet's gotten along handsomely with how casual Aang tends to be, and their cheerful demeanors seem to compliment each other quite well. Aang seems to get enthused by Emmet's enthusiasm, which increases his own enthusiasm as well - a self-perpetuating cycle of happiness and good feelings. It's a good buffer when the topic shifts a bit darkly, since both are able to shift back into a positive tone fairly quickly.
CILAN
"It would be an honor to be friends with you!"
It's really unfortunate that Cilan is from a different world, where he knew the Subway Bosses very well. Emmet feels very sorry for him, since he doesn't know him as well as he would otherwise. Still, Cilan is a fun guy and anyone with a love for trains can't be a bad person. Emmet is still entirely confident that he will become very familiar with Cilan and will gain a strong friendship with him. Most of what he's learned lately, of course, is that Cilan is absolutely afraid of ghosts but fervently denies their existence. During the shift in February, Emmet was mercilessly afflicted, and fell head-over-heels in love with Cilan. Those feelings, thanks to a lingering effect of the shift, did not wane along with everyone else's feelings. This made things extremely complicated, as Emmet came clean with what had happened. However, after making such a confession, the effect wore off at the end of the month... but before Emmet could take the time to bring the topic up again, Ingo returned back to Nimbasa. Instead of dealing with his romantic feelings - and sudden lack thereof - Emmet sought Cilan out to fill the void that was his brother's absence, simply desperate to not be entirely alone. The complications of February will last for some time more, undoubtedly...
FENIMORE
"I still haven't -- haven't gotten what I came for."
Emmet helped her out in Gangland, teaching her how to gamble in order to get the items she needed. He taught and encouraged her, and he'll be finding her to bug more in the future most definitely.
GOLD
"I couldn't drive the Subway Twins apart with a simple nickname!"
Gold is a strange fellow, but he's not at all beyond Emmet's understanding. Even if he doesn't talk in the most direct way, he makes himself abundantly clear in his actions. Though Emmet doesn't often let himself burden others, he found a moment where he needed some support when Ingo was drafted. Through Silver's suggestion, he went to House 11 and met Gold there. Emmet doesn't find Gold particularly strange at all, whereas most people seem to be surprised by a lot of the "random" things he does. It all makes sense to Emmet - it's all going down the same tracks, after all. Maybe a sudden turn here or there, is all.
KYOUHEI
" If you want, me and Mei can double battle you and Ingo some time!"
Though he has not yet encountered Kyouhei in his world, he is happy to meet more trainers that are from his world. It's a little reassurance. And as he spends a bit more time around him, he's grown quite fond of the young trainer's enthusiasm! The excitement is just something that Emmet can always relate to and relish.
MEI
"My visit to Nimbasa was the first time I had ever ridden on a subway line! It was really cool!"
Just like Kyouhei, Emmet has not yet met Mei. Still, he is very fond of her and after spending some time with her here and there, he has grown quite fond quite quickly.
PLATINA
"It's an unfair limitation, in my opinion."
A charming and somewhat strange young girl, Platina is someone that Emmet met together with Ingo. She's a very resigned girl, with a lot of proper lady behavior, and often tries to keep to herself. Still, Emmet has no qualms with spending time with her as a casual acquaintance. He can tell that further down the line is a young, excited girl with a big taste for adventure, like anyone else.
RAVEN
"I like birds. Even monster birds."
A very abrasive young woman, or so it seems. She seems to take offense at what is, to Emmet, the slightest provocation. More than anything, she appears to be a close friend of Archeops' more than Emmet's. She's very strange, in that regard, though Emmet certainly is going to idly pursue a friendship with her. She seems quite thoughtful, after all, and it reminds him a bit of Ingo.
SHIEMI
"It's nice... to have a little bit of him to hold on to."
Shiemi is a girl certainly much closer to Ingo than to Emmet. But Emmet can clearly see why his brother was looking out for her! She's sweet, and though she has some troubles in believing in her own strength, she has the potential to be a good Pokémon trainer.
SILVER
"If it really meant that much, I'm glad."
Silver is a bit of a strange case. He is someone very, very dear to Ingo, and someone Ingo goes so far as to consider a son. Obviously, that sort of mentality and affection is not something someone else is going to adopt overnight. Even Emmet, with his unhealthy strong attachment to Ingo's hip, will have to slowly build that fondness over time. In the meantime, however, he's happy to support Silver where he can and he's even happier to get to know him better. In the end, he's someone that's both made Ingo happy and has saved Ingo's life, so Silver's got all of the base points covered to get Emmet instantly inclined to like him no matter what he does.
THE TRAVELER
"♬♩ ♩"
A mysterious little fellow, Emmet met him during the Amnesia Event, where he mistook himself for a gossip columnist. He saw this strange little critter roaming about, and whistled a tune along with it. The Traveler is a charming little thing, and Emmet is quite fond of it.
VANELLOPE VON SCHWEETZ
"That's 'cause I was born to race! Kinda like you and your trains, right?"
Emmet just absolutely adores people like Vanellope. He loves seeing people that have great passion for what they do, and he relates very well to the enthusiasm of a younger person. Where Ingo - and perhaps most others - would see a child that needed protection or guidance, Emmet sees just yet another person with a big heart and a big dream, and he treats her no different than he would someone much older.
